The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, SALAR, is a membership and employer organization. All municipalities and regions in Sweden are members.
SALAR’s mission is to support and promote the development of municipalities and regions. It acts as a knowledge exchange and coordination network. Its role includes providing service and professional advice to civil servants and elected representatives in municipalities and regions on all matters in which municipalities and regions are active. SALAR also offers training and conferences on a wide range of topics.
SALAR International, as part of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), works to strengthen democracy and good governance at the local level.
