The Armenian people, based on the fundamental principles of statehood and national goals established in the Declaration of Independence of Armenia, and the sacred message of their freedom-loving ancestors who restored the sovereignty of the state, dedicated to strengthening and prospering the homeland, in order to ensure the freedom of future generations, general welfare, civil harmony, and affirming their commitment to universal values, adopt the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
