The meeting was also attended by the principals of Goris Basic School No. 3 named after Yuri Bakhshyan and Basic School No. 2, both of which have joined the “School–Community Cooperation” format within the DeaLoG program.
Participants discussed topics related to school governance models, education decentralization, and formats of school–community collaboration.
The school principals, as new program partners, were introduced in detail to the features of the school–community cooperation model. They asked questions to the program team and voiced concerns regarding certain aspects of state education policy.
Program Manager Varsenik Mnatsakanyan gave an in-depth presentation on the essence of the program and the expected outcomes.
Garik Khachikyan, Local Self-Governance Consultant of the DeaLoG program, delivered a talk for participants on building a unified agenda for effective school–community cooperation.
The meeting clearly demonstrated the strong interest and willingness of both the Goris community and the schools to achieve visible success within the framework of the program.
The “Support to Decentralization and Local Governance Reforms in Armenia” (DeaLoG) program is funded by the Government of Sweden. Its goal is to support the Government of Armenia in advancing decentralization and implementing local self-government reforms by providing advisory, analytical, and capacity-building support.
