🇦🇲 The first military conscription of the year was held in the Martuni community.
On January 8, 2026, the 2025 winter military conscription officially began in the Martuni community. A large crowd gathered in front of the military commissariat. Conscripts were seen off to the Armenian Army by their relatives, friends, and acquaintances.
A meeting was held with the conscripts, which began with the Lord’s Prayer led by the spiritual pastor of Martuni, Father Yeremia Priest Sargsyan, who addressed the young men with blessings and words of guidance. On the occasion of the conscription, the new recruits were congratulated, wished a peaceful and safe service, and given important advice by S. Khlyghatyan, Advisor to the Governor of Gegharkunik Province; V. Davtyan, First Deputy Head of the Martuni Community; and K. Manukyan, Deputy Military Commissar of Gegharkunik Province of the RA Ministry of Defense.
Representative Ghazaryan from the Army Corps presented the “Defend the Homeland” program, its advantages, and called on young people to join the program.
The winter conscription will continue until January 29, 2026.
