SALAR International and the Communities Association of Armenia discuss joint projects.

Communities Association of Armenia Director General Armen Harutyunyan met with SALAR International Programme Director Lena Falconi, DeaLoG Programme Manager Helena Adler-Kreutz, as well as Head of the DeaLoG Programme and Team in Armenia Varsenik Mnatsakanyan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues aimed at the development of communities in Armenia and enhancing the effectiveness of the local self-government system. The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacities and resources of communities, particularly in the context of expanding international cooperation, exchanging experience, and introducing modern governance tools.

Special attention was paid to the development of human resources in communities and the organization of professional training programs. The participants discussed opportunities for various thematic trainings, educational programs, and professional exchange visits that could be implemented both in Armenia and Sweden. It was noted that such initiatives could contribute to the introduction of new knowledge and international best practices in the field of local governance.

The meeting participants also addressed the importance of strengthening international ties between communities, emphasizing that such cooperation creates opportunities not only for exchanging experience but also for building long-term partnerships. They discussed potential areas for developing joint programs aimed at institutional development of communities, improving the efficiency of local-level service delivery, and enhancing the community governance system.
