Armenian delegation in Moldova participates in high-level conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the EC "Covenant of Mayors - East" program Covenant of Mayors

The Armenian delegation is participating in the high-level conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the EU “Covenant of Mayors – East” program, taking place in Chișinău on May 20–21.

The Armenian delegation includes:

• Ashot Giloyan, Adviser to the Local Self-Government Policy Department of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure
• Armen Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Union of Communities of Armenia
• Aneta Babayan, Director of the Yerevan Investment PIU
• Astghine Pasoyan, Director of the Energy Saving Foundation
• Hrant Ter-Gabrielyan, Head of the Program Implementation and Engineering Department at the R2E2 Fund
• Artem Kharazyan, National Expert of the “Covenant of Mayors – East” program in Armenia
• Tatevik Harutyunyan, Communication Expert of the “Covenant of Mayors – East” program in Armenia
• Norayr Baghdasaryan, First Deputy Head of Tashir Community
• Arthur Manukyan, Deputy Head of Alaverdi Community
• Arman Bernetsyan, Adviser to the Head of Vanadzor Community
• Lusine Hovhannisyan, Head of the Department for Development Programs, Tourism and External Relations of the Stepanavan Municipality
• Suren Abrahamyan, Chief of Staff of the Akhuryan Municipality

Members of the delegation will deliver presentations during various panel discussions dedicated to climate ambitions and achievements within the framework of the program, lessons learned, Europe’s climate future, implementation of municipal SECAPs, and other related topics.

During the high-level dinner dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the “Covenant of Mayors – East” program, an award ceremony will take place.

On the second day of the conference, a study visit will be organized to Castel Mimi, Moldova’s well-known winery and cultural complex, which aims to become a zero-emission site by implementing sustainable development principles in the areas of energy, waste management, water resources, and mobility.
