Online meeting with municipalities and schools involved in the education decentralisation initiative. Pilot initiative

Within the framework of the DeaLoG project implemented by SALAR International, and in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and with the support of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, an online meeting was held on May 18 of this year with the municipalities and schools (future educational complexes) involved in the pilot initiative on the decentralisation of public education management.
During the discussion, participants were introduced to the essence of the pilot program and the upcoming activities. In addition, DeaLoG project education expert Serob Khachatryan conducted a seminar on the topic “Critical and Creative Thinking Skills.” The participants also discussed the cooperation plans jointly developed by the municipalities and schools, through which the parties intend to strengthen and deepen school-municipality relations.
Ashot Giloyan from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure presented the government’s approaches to decentralisation to the participants and elaborated on the work currently being carried out by the state at this stage.
Around 25 people from all participating communities took part in the meeting, including school principals, municipality officials, members of parent and school governance councils, and others.
